Guest
I would really recommend a book called 'Number Fun Songs' by Dave Godfrey as it has songs for all maths topics. It comes with two CDs, one of which is just the backing track so you can adapt to suit your particular children. My children are really enjoying the songs. Jackie A.
Another fantastic book is "Tom Thumb's Musical Maths" (A and C Black) which has simple songs for all maths topics set to the tunes of well-known nursery rhymes and songs. There are several shape ones in there - general shape and for each individual shape. I'm not sure if it would be O.K. to put the songs on here due to copyright but if you want to PM me I can give them to you that way. Another good book I have is Sally Featherstones Little Book of Maths Songs and Games. Both these books are very reasonable and are both available through Amazon - would recommend both for all areas of maths. Jackie

Guest
It's at school at the moment so will post it on Monday. Have you tried searching for shape songs on TES? Seem to be quite a few nice ideas.
Verona
Here's one about a circle... To the tune Have you ever seen a lassie. Have you ever seen a circle, a circle, a circle Have you ever seen a circle, which goes round and round? It rolls this way and that way, and this way and that way, Have you ever seen a circle, which goes round and round? Another one ... I laminated lots of different shapes and each child had one. To the tune Twinkle, twinkle... Put your square shapes in the air Hold it high and leave it there Put your square shape on your back Now please lay it on your lap. Put your square shape on your toes Now please hold it by your nose. Hold your square shape in your hand Now will everyone please stand. Wave your square shape at the door Now please lay it on the floor. Hold your square shape and jump, jump, jump Now throw your square shape way, way, up. Changed the last two lines to... Hold your square shape in the air Now please put it on your chair. - because it caused havoc with laminated shapes flying around (it was fun though) and a poem... Celia circle is nice and round No corners on her are ever found Samuel square, that's my name I have 4 sides that are just the same Tilly triangle is here to see you She has 3 sides and 3 points too Ricky rectangle is a funny sort Two sides are long and 2 sides are short. Guest
i've found the document! here goes: The Circle Can you draw a circle? Round like a ball. Without any corners. It has none at all. The Square A square is shaped like this four corners and four sides. And every side is the same length so it's just as tall as wide. The Triangle Triangle, triangle, just look at you! Three pointed corners and three straight sides too! Fat ones and thin ones I sometimes can see, But when I count the corners they'll always be three! Rectangle Song Rectangle, rectangle, this is your song. You have two short sides and two that are long. Rectangle shapes are wherever I look, In windows and doors and the pages of my book. Shapes My triangle has three sides. It stands on its toes. \/ (Line at top to make triangle) But when i gently turn it round, down it goes. /_\ My shapely square has four sides, it stands upon its toes /\ \/ but when i turn round down it goes. |_| (line at top to make a square) hope that one made sense!!! love twinkle* xxxx
