Jeany
Does anyone have information sheets for parents that basically condense the full policies. For example having made a referral recently after a child made a disclosure I feel it would be useful for all parents to fully understand that we are not accusing them off anything when we are referring. That we have a duty of care and we HAVE to pass on certain information for ss yo investigate.
twinthinguk
we have a parents hand book which contains a few of our policies that they might need to see, this is given to parents when their child starts with us, but it is available at any time, also I ask if my parents have any questions after reading it, they sign a slip to say they have seen the policies and we keep that in our registration folder. It would perhaps be useful in your situation to offer a condensed fact sheet to parents when having your one to one conversations about the indecent. Its never going to be an easy conversation to have but armed with some documents for back up will help you to explain your duty of care and the procedures you have in place., good luck x
