Guest
Hello, has anyone any suggestions for some afternoon activities I could do with year 1 children about dolphins. Thought of learning some facts, labelling them, modelling them from playdough. My mind has gone a bit blank and struggling for some exciting, interesting things to do. Thank you. bgfrancis
Could you maybe watch a clip of them jumping out of the water and splashing back? You could focus on the shapes made in the water and perhaps use these circles as the beginning of an art project? (I hope that makes sense!!) Another idea might be learning the names of different types of dolphin and then encouraging the children to create their own e.g. naming it, designing it? bgfrancis
Another idea!! You could play the children some dolphin 'singing', then provide a selection of musical instruments for children to create their own version?
narnia
ask them if they know which is the biggest dolphin?? It's the Orca ( The so-called Killer 'whale' which is actually a dolphin)
