missmighty Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Hi not sure if im posting in the right topic. I have a member of staff who is qualified level two and has been working for me for four years. She has wanted to do a level three qualification but we have been unable to get funding or support for her as she is 29. She cannot afford to pay for the training and I cannot afford to pay for it. I can't find anything on gov website other than they are consulting the new level three qualification on it but cache and another training provider are taking registrations now for september this year to undertake the training. they state that as a level two you would need to work under supervision with no key responsibilities and that they cannot be included within staff ratios. Can anyone shed any light on this please? I don't want to see her go but I cannot afford to keep her on if shes not allowed to be included in ratios anymore Quote
missmighty Posted March 4, 2014 Author Posted March 4, 2014 Sorry would also like to add that a GCSE Maths and English will be a requirement, the key skills tests will no longer be seen as an equivalent. This does not effect my member of staff as she has them but thought I would let you know Quote
HappyMaz Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Hi missmighty We point our learners in the direction of the 24+ Advanced Learning Loans. Works in a similar way to the Student Loan Company, and there's nothing to pay back until April 2016, if the learner is earning more than £21,000 a year. You can find information here. Hope that helps. 1 Quote

Pimms o'clock? Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Hi I don't know where you are based but I have a mos doing level 3 who is well over 30 through a company called Parenta they sorted out the funding for her and neither the setting or her are paying a penny. I was also going to suggest the 24+ and the student type grant. good luck Quote
