basilbrush
can someone tell me what the difference is between a nursery nurse and an early years assistant - just looked round a beautiful nursery class in an early childhood centre where there is a vacancy and was told there was a nursery nurse and an early years assitant in each class - legal requirement as I understand it - but what is the difference between them Sorry, a bit of a muddled post!!! Thanks for your help

Guest
It could be nursery nurse and assistant as in teaching/classroom assistant but cant really call them that if not in school/classroom.
Guest
I would think that the nursery nurse has a qualificatin and that the early years assistant may not. They may have some sort of qualification but not as high as that of the nursery nurse. I am assuming there is no teacher in the classroom so the nursery nurse would be the person in charge. In Stockport most of our nurseries have a qualified teacher and a nursery nurse. Linda
Rea
Wouldnt it be nice if everyone in early years had the same kind of title. Something we could all understand. Wasnt there a discussion on titles a while back?
