Greenfinch
Advice please. It may sound obvious to some of you but.... I took on a new member of staff on a temporary contract to the end of July (1 term) as I wanted to see how she was and also wasn't sure how much work would be available after this term. As its worked out, although I may still have the work, I don't want to keep her on for various reasons. The temporary contract clearly states the review date so, is there any reason why I can't tell her, thanks very much and best wishes for the future( type of thing) without stating lots of reasons why I don't think she's suitable to keep on ... HappyMaz
Nope when her contract ends you can just say thank you and goodbye. I love it when people say just what I was thinking, but in a fraction of the word count!
Guest
Yes you don't have to explain the reasons although it would be more beneficial to the staff member to do so. They may not thank you for your honestly at the time but if it helps them to self improve then that has to be a positive thing. It also stops them wondering too i guess!
