lmf1983 Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Hi all Feeling a bit worried/confused about reporting childrens attainment against ELGs to parents. I'm going to change my report formats to show if children are emerging, expected, exceeding against all ELGs and report on characteristics of effective learning. However, I have to give my final judgements to the LA next week, but my reports to parents won't go out until July. In my mind that still gives nearly all of the summer term 2 to help children progress - particularly those who I may report as 'emerging' against any ELGs next week, they may be at an 'expected' level by the end of the year? What is everyone else doing? Is anyone giving their judgements to the LA next week? Thanks all!
Rufus Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 I am giving my data to the LA on 21st but want all data in to me the week before. Any children that I feel will be 'expected' by then end of the year, I will give them it. You know those children that will get there and those that won't. Those children that will be expected in 5 weeks time are probably already on the cusp and showing you evidence, it's just that you need to see more. If they are not showing you evidence towards it now, then the likelihood is they won't in 5 weeks, and if they do, they may forget it over the summer.
Guest Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 My data is not due in till end of June, but I am also doing what Rufus is doing and will be giving children the 'expected' level if I know they will reach it by the end of term. Hope that helps
