New Pre-school - Advice Please

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post, I'm sure someone will help if ive got it wrong!!

My school is in the process of incorporating a pre-school into our school setting which is very exciting. I am at present EYFS manager in school and will be working with this project but i have little nursery experience. Please can you point me in the right direction for some good reading materials as a start!!!

Also could others advise: if you are in a setting that has a nursery is it usual that the EYFS manager covers both nursry and reception. Just wondering what others do!

Thank you so much.

We have an EYFS co ordinator who works IN nursery but is also the go to person for reception.

We meet frequently and then this person should be the one who goes to senior management with any issues

Most of our FS leaders in the LA are either in reception or nursery and typically are also part of SLT although this is not a given. When I was last in school I was EYFS lead, in nursery or reception or out of class and DHT of the whole school so it really depends on your leadership structure!
