Guest
Hi guys, for once I'm sharing not begging for help! As you may remember I childmind as well as being Supervisor of a preschool. As childminder I have set up a role play environment of the 3 bears' house. To go with this I have made colour coded labels. Not tricky but would save you time to just print them off! My mindies are only 2 so I will be concentrating on the colour matching side of it and naming the words to try to promote the idea that words represent objects etc. I have laminated them and cut them out using the title to hang in the arch of my extended playroom as an entrance. (The arch makes it neatly into two areas so one end is almost entirely role play) I have stuck the words such as bowl, cup, chair onto the objects and the idea is that they will find the same colour words and I will help them to match them to the appropriate object so yellow bowl label... put the yellow Daddy by the biggest bowl etc etc. Other ideas for use include... Making a story board by adding velcro to the back and inserting the appropriate words as you tell the story. Labelling the wrong items for readers. Um actually that's it! If anyone else has ideas I'd love to hear them! three_bears.doc
