green hippo Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Hi all, I'm being observed on Monday by the deputy head and the school improvement officer - eeeek. However, I am pleased (and rather surprised) that they want to see me teaching through child-initiated play (they usually prefer to see key group time!). I am anticipating the usual - so how do you know what all the children are doing/learning? sort of questions, as neither of them are early years specialists. Just wondering if anyone has some good concise ways of explaining child-initiated learning to back up my explanation? Thanks Green Hippo x
catma Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Sustained shared thinking, the 3 characteristics of effective learning, the role of the enabling environment as the 3rd educator (staff and parents being the other 2) just baffle them with that... 3
