Safeguarding Folder Checks

Recommended Posts

Hi. I am currently doing the checklist I was given for our Safeguarding file and one of the things to tick off is that we have confirmation from outside agencies or other professionals that visit our setting of their CRB checks etc. Does anyone do this as I can't see that we have ever done this so I can't tick it off. I suppose if we have an EYA coming in we should have one for her from the council with whom she is employed?

OMG ...no i don't do this (i'd have crb's for half the bloomin county!!) and to be honest they are not left alone with the children and visit irregularly so i think we should be fine. (i tend to have a fair amount of children with sen needs and some of them have complex needs....we have had one little one with 15 specialists involved!)

The self assessment guide I am using is an old one from our local council so I don't have it as a file but I will list the checks for you..

Has someone completed 'Safer Recruitment'?... Do you have a 'Central Record'?.. Have all staff/vol had CRB?.. Including regular parent helpers.. CRB's reviewed.. All committee members CRB'd..All staff to hold CRB before starting work... Recruitment checks on supply staff recorded in central record?...Written confirmation students hold CRB.. signing in system..Written confirmation of recruitment checks on professionals who reg. visit?.. Designated safeguarding person.. Designated attended course.. Annual appraisals and supervision meetings?.. Safeguarding policy.. personal care policy.. whistle blowing policy..policy on use of mobiles..tel no for ch and families assessment team.. info for new parents explain who runs setting.. how to make complaint...tell parents our safeguarding responsibilities..

And that's all!
