Susan Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 Heads do know that you need to move on, they will have done so. Its not very good form to stay in one school for ever, either and there can be an optimum time for moving. Some heads do get a bit shirty when they realise they might lose staff but maybe if you work for one of those you need to move sooner rather than later anyway! Whatever you do, do tell your head that you are thinking of applying before you actually do so and ask for their support as a referee, its good form and will save a lot of unpleasantness, if you dont!
