Guest
Hi everyone I have just taken on a job as Nursery Manager for a new setting owned by two registered childminders wishing to expand into daycare on a larger scale. Currently we have two qualified (L4 and 5) staff and one unqualified. How do I plan the owners themselves into the ratios? Can they be counted as qualified, without any other recognised qualifications? Or should they be regarded as 'unqualified'? Help please! mundia
It will depend what their qualifications are. If they have suitable qualifications, they can be counted as qualified in ratios, but if they haven't, no matter how long they have been childminding, they will have to be counted as unqualified. If you need all 5 staff, you will need at least 3 qualified. You can check out qualifications here
