catma
They are the same. Sure start began with the original local area porgrammes of activities etc which has transformed into Children's Centres, whether virtual or in a fixed building the services are all cross agency and focused on the CC core purpose of supporting families back into employment, closing the disadvantage gap etcThey are still funded through Sure Start but the money is no longer ring fenced hence LAs can use it as they wish which has led to the closure of CCs in some areas and a reduction in services in others. Different names are used by different LAs/organisations, we for example have children's centres but another LA near us has Family Centres. They do the same thing.
