lynned55
Do your committee not realise that some of these 'guidelines' are actual legal responsibilities of an employer & that they are your employers. A 20 minute break after 6 hours hours not a guideline nor is it anything to do with Early Years it's a legal requirement. Honestly it never ceases to amaze me how casually so many of these people take their responsibility
Guest
Just thought I would share with you the results of my enquiry regarding the legality of additonal charges. My business support officer from somerset has written and phoned to clarify that yes I can charge an addtional service charge to all parents including those accessing the free hours as long as it states in my policy what this charge covers. I do no have to give them the option to opt out and if this prevents them accessing my setting ( and nobody has stated this as a reason for not coming to us yet) then it is me who is missing out on filling sessions. Phew! I can sleep at night at last without worrying how I was going to make ends meet
