Devondaisy
I'm just wondering if any of you have a pre-school sports day? What sort of races do you have? And do you give out prizes, medals or certificates and who to - just the winners or to everyone?
Fredbear
Yes we do, ours is combined with a picnic in our local park. Parent/carers are all invited, we provide snack for the children, and we give lots of cheers, claps and smiley faces no prizes.

Guest rainyjaney
We do egg and spoon and running races. Chalk lines on playground so they each have own lane to run in. All children get a certificate for taking part - various free sites on internet which can be used to knock up something special. Some years the children all get a medal too, if we've been able to find any cheap party bag type medals.Haven't done it with parents present so far as often easier to manage with no parents around-I know that sounda quite unwelcoming but all parents will be invited to party the foolowing week!! Guest
hi, we changed ours last year from races to a kind of carousel of activities, wwe had parachute games, hoopla, musical statues, a couple of others. Groups of about 10 and they moved around with the member of staff, parents loved it and we did finish with a race for the 2's and 3/4's and parents race. It was also a bring a teddy sports day and it was great! No tears about not winning so everyone was less stressed out All the children got a certificate and cheap medal, they still talk about it now too!
