Guest
I have just started a new job managing a nursery and want to TRY and motivate the team!! I'm looking for that poem about how powerful we are and the difference we can make to a child's day.....i had it in my office in my last job but cant remember it. It's not the 'if a child lives with critisism' poem, its basically about how the practitioner sets the tone of the day and can inspire kids or deflate them etc etc, anyone know it? Also any good ideas on how to motivate staff to turn up??? the sickness levels are awful and as its a LA nursery, there arn't many consequences! Rea
I've seen it. You can make a childs day fun or boring kind of thing.
Rea
Some of these are similar, but you do have to trawl through a lot. Its American and a bit cutesy Poems and ryhmes
Guest
Some of these are similar, but you do have to trawl through a lot. Its American and a bit cutesy Poems and ryhmes Thanks Rea, it was there amongst the list! I've come to the frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element in the classroom. It is MY person approach that creates the climate. It is my daily mood that makes the weather. As a teacher I possess a tremendous power to make a child's life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration. I can humiliate or humour, hurt or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis will be escalated or de-escalated and a child humanized or de-humanized. Guest pamgreen
I saw this poem today it has really inspired me. People Place”. If this is not a place where tears are understood, Where do I go to cry? If this is not a place where my spirits can take wing, Where do I go to fly? If this is not a place where my questions can be asked, Where do I go to seek? If this is not a place where my feelings are heard, Where do I go to speak? If this is not a place where you’ll accept me as I am, Where can I go to be? If this is not a place where I can try to learn and grow, Where can I just be me? by William Crocker.
