Hello Everybody

I have to be observed for a new post of phase leader. I have to teach a reception class for half an hour. No focus given. What can I do that will really impress them. My heart has always been in foundation stage but I have worked in Y2 for the last 3 years and I am worried will pitch it too high and with only half an hour I can't afford to mess it up. Please advise me I am a bag of nerves.

It's always good to get lots of interaction going - and humour! Can you talk to the Reception teacher to find out what the class have been doing? Half an hour is not long but could seem like ages if you don't hook the children!

Possible ideas could be interactive maths or phonics, story session, music or a circle time speaking and listening activity.
