Staff Training Day

 Share

Recommended Posts

You have been a great help to me already as I plan for our whole team training day(Day Nursery)

So far I have decided to concentrate on

 Customer service

 Mission statement revamp with contributions from all

 Where we came from, where we are, where we are going

 PRSN the area staff seem to have problem with -I will set out activities and resources and ideas sheets for them to take away and have a bit of brain storm on ideas linked to starting points eg a book, celebration

 Learning stories -we have looked at learning stories and have already talked to staff about what records need, should be kept eg how many long/short observations need to be -trying to cut down on paper work

And we will do a bit on safe guarding too.

Phew a lot in one day.Any ideas for interactive brill bits of training? I want the day to be something the staff look forward to and get a lot out of

The very best way to learn and understand is to be asked to teach something to someone else.

With your PSRN activity, why not set up some resources, e.g. put out wooden blocks, trampoline, scales, toy cars and pipe. Then split your staff up into 4 groups and give each group 10 minutes to work out a short presentation, showing 5 different ways in which that resource could be used for PSRN, for the rest of the staff. (For instance, trampoline - count how many times you can jump, measure how how, how long can you jump for, etc.)

If you make them come up with the ideas, they will feel ownership of them and be able to do it again in future.
