Peer Mentoring

Hi,

am in the process of implementing a peer mentoring system across the Preschool. I've got the peer observation sorted but am struggling a bit with putting together a format the team can use for focusing their meetings/discussion.

What do you think should be included, recorded etc. or even better, does anyone have any templates I could addapt?!?!?!

Thank you Peggy,

I like that for the obs. What I'm thinking of is a format for recording mentor meetings. I meet with my 'mentor' once evry half term (she's our ex chair). At the moment this consists of me nipping up to hers for an hour or two for lunch! We do discuss work topics primarily, anything I'm struggling with from sen to staffing issues, a bit about how I'm coping with workload etc. and she's great at bolstering my confidence about what I am doing right.

Sometimes actions will arise, sometimes not. It's a great way for me to off load safely with a 'critical friend'. I need to be recording this is some way as am setting up this for the team too. The supervisor will have a member of the board and the rest of the girls will mentor each other. Whilst observations are working well I feel the oppotunity for them to reflect more generally too would be of benefit, or even discuss aspects of practice their unsure of or from their reflective journals!
