Guest
In september I became an NQT and took my first job in a reception class. My head has recently informed me that we will be moderated after the Christmas break. I was just wondering if everyone could give me a few pointers as to what they will be looking for? And any other advice as I feel very nervous about the whole thing!!!
catma
Don't stress, this will be a professional dialogue to look at the judgements you have made so far and the reasons you have made them so you will talk about some of your children and what evidence you have. This can be anecdotal, recorded, on a PC...wherever you have it. It's not a test and it isn't your final data yet cos it's only the Spring term so it will be very much focussed on where you are so far. Guest
I had my moderation for the first time last year, and was very worried about the whole process, but actually it was very rewarding and enjoyable. Someone came in, observed a child with me, we discussed the child and their next steps, then we looked through the evidence for some of the children, and talked about it and them. A whole morning to talk about my class - lovely. As long as you have some evidence for your children, and know your children, there is honestly nothing to worry about Emily
