Guest Posted March 20, 2005 Posted March 20, 2005 Hi I know this topic came up a while but has anyone had any dealings with 'FirstSteps' software by Rio Computers? We are looking to buy the software and just before we do thought I would check if anyone has any complaints or compliments about it! Thanks Quote
Lucy P Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 I use this software (i inherited it from the last owner). It did have a lot of bugs in it, but it has got better over the last five years i have been using it. There is alot you can do with it and i don't use it to its full potential, my managers use it most for storing the children's personal details and i find it invaluable for the invoicing system, but the maintanence fee is quite steep, approx. £300 per year. So... yes it's ok but given the choice i would have shopped around for an easier format to use. Quote
Guest Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 Thanks Lucy We are still waiting to here from them since they came to show the demo. We are now running into the 4th week of waiting! Quote

debstephens Posted June 19, 2005 Posted June 19, 2005 We are getting it finally installed on Wednesday! 29082[/snapback] I was wondering how you have been getting on with your new software. Has it made life easier? Our group has been thinking about buying a programme but aren't sure which one to go for. Quote
Guest Posted June 19, 2005 Posted June 19, 2005 Hi Debs Will make life easier once we have all children's and staff's details on the software, that is the time consuming bit at the moment. Gem Quote
thoreed Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 I have used several of the nursery management packages on the market and have found that "Kindersoft" is the best by quite a long way. It is easy to use, reliable and modern. Highly recommended! You can download a demo version from www.kindersoft.co.uk In case you are wondering, I have no connection at all with the makers of this software! Tom Quote
