Sorry things haven't been good Jennywrenny - but now they have to get better :o

Have you got ofsted this week?!?! I hope not cos that is just really mean of them.

Will have a think about the maths - what kind of area/topic?

They might want to talk about transition to Y1....maybe talk about entry levels and progress from then to now....child initiated vs adult led....hmmm not sure really.

x

To be honest I don't think there is an answer......its down to individual inspectors. If they aren't early years specialists I don't think they even know what they are looking for. We have just had our visit and I prepared for most eventualities and didn't need any of it.....however it was reassuring to know I had it if necesary. Our inspector wasn't an early years person, she was very hot on safe guarding e.g. risk assessments, policies etc. She scutinised my planning but didn't give feedback, so don't know if she liked it or not. She was keen on looking at the outdoor area but that had been our down fall on our last inspection. She looked through my learning journies. As a school they were very interested in assessment and how we showed progress. Our SMT said the process was much tougher than our previous one.

Sorry to hear you've been having a tough half term. I had noticed your absense so good to have you back!

Lots of luck for ofsted. As already said, I think ofsted look for different things. They didn't look at my planning but were very interested in my learning stories. Interested in child initiated learning and tracking progress. xx
