Hi All

Next week I will be teaching an activity with a group of children in Nursery. I wanted to do some problem solving. Has anyone got any ideas? The session is 15-20 minutes, and it is thehigher ability nursery children. Thank you.

You could try this – Present the children with a mixture of sand, paper clips and beads (or other non magnetic items that wont pass through a sieve) and ask the children what tools we can use to separate the items.

The idea is the sand can be sieved out and a magnet can be used the separate the paperclips from the rest of the objects.
