Guest
Hi I am a foundation stage teacher and this is my first ever post. School have asked me to provide a set of skills that the reach of the school will use to teach for each year group foundation-year 6. I'm not science coordinator and there isn't anything like this in our school, so i was just wondering if anyone had anything which i could use as a start or adapt. If not im going to be very busy this easter holiday!! Thanks x
Guest
For science in Pre School (KUW) we concentrate on the science process skills of, observation (children describing what they see, changes, etc), hypothesising (SP) ie, predicting what they think will happen, testing, recording. There is a great website called Concept Cartoons http://www.rsc.org/education/teachers/lear.../w-cartoons.htm Which might give you some useful ideas. Guest
I just googled 'science skills y1 to y6' and loads came up! Sheffield city council looks good - all in child speak too, with a tick grid attached for easy recording! good luck Jennim

dreamgirl
Hello cupcake. How do you make the cartoon concept site work? Do you have to have the CD rom?
JacquieL
You might want to have a look at the new primary curriculum for science and technology to ensure that any work you do won't need altering later on. The Nuffield site may also help you as well. http://curriculum.qcda.gov.uk/new-primary-...ndex.aspx?tab=
