Guest
I am thinking ahead to next term as many of us are I am sure. I wnt to really reamp my writing area and provide some new exciting mark making resources so I am hoping you can give me the inspiration I am looking for x x x Thankchooo We revamped our area - it looked great, to us as adults! The children could not have given it a 'wider berth'! I went to visit a leading teacher and took many notes about what I saw. Nothing was rocket science really but we just forget in the daily melee sometimes! She had a huge range of writing tools - wide choice, including those lovely real wood pencils. She said she had really noticed that boys liked to swap writing tools a lot. Also they didn't respond well to paper etc which lay flat in a tray! She used those tallish oval type canisters for cereal and put in narrowish 'shopping list type' pieces of paper decorated with Ben 10, Spiderman etc at the top. The boys could see these easily and used them - I will be copying this doing this too! Next thing I am going to do is get the children to say what they would like - using the dictaphone to record their ideas and plans, good luck, Jenni
WChurchill
I have a class of really boistrous boys. I set up a Ben 10 table with table cloth and Ben 10 cups with pencils etc in. Also heard of party bags of various themes so can carry crayons about. The boys were really focused - amazing.
