Guest Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Hi Just wondering if anyone who works in a childrens centre as had a Ofsted visit yet. We have been told we could rexpect a visit early in the new year and are not too sure what to expect? We are doing the usual preparations (Core offer, EYFS, Safeguarding etc)Any advice would be welcome, thanks, unsworth.
catma Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Hi, there have been pilot inspections in some LAs this term and Ofsted are about to publish the outcomes of their consultation re this, due Nov - late as ever. The children's centre SEF would be a current guide re expectations as is much of the together for children stuff. Be very clear about the impact of your offer on all users and the difference you are making in respect of parents/carers development as much as children's. Cx ps don't work in a centre but have been asked to look at this with our centre heads.
Guest Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 thanks Catma That was useful info I will keep checking Ofsted website, Thanks, Unsworth
catma Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 The consultation outcomes are on Ofsted web site. Inspections are starting in April according to info to director. It will also take into account any previous section 5 or childcare on non domestic premises inspection reports that exist for provision in the centre. Cx
rosepetal Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Thank you Catma for sharing this information with us. It is certainly very useful. More reading for me to add to my list. Rosepetal
Guest Mrs Tiggy Winkle Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Be very clear about the impact of your offer on all users and the difference you are making in respect of parents/carers development as much as children's. Cx This seems to be at the heart of the whole thing... still not clear exactly what they want us to show to prove it tho....
