apple Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 Hi there anyone out there got a light box? I'd like to know where you got it from, how much you paid and more importantly what kind of things you can do with them. Our head is keen to invest in one and although you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth when money is being offered, I have found one that is very pricey at £230 from a company called 'Step by Step'. I'd like to know what things it can do for this amount of money so I'd welcome any advice. Cheers folks Liza
Steve Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 Hi Liza - Don't know anything myself about them, but there was another conversation some time ago about light boxes. You can find it here. If bubble ever bought one or had one made I'm sure she'll let you know what she thinks of them!
bubblejack Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 Yes I purchased one from Reflections on Learning. It was about £200. It is portable as we have to clear away each day. We use it a lot for looking at patters and changes in natural and man made things.i.e. shells, bugs, leaves, different papers. We have the microscpes alongside it together with pencils and paper for the children to record what they see if they wish. I have also seen some gel pens to use with light box. It is very useful for children who are hypa as it does seem to calm them down. Yes well worth the money!!!!
Guest Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 Got mine on ebay, cost me £23 + £10 postage!!! It is a great resource, for the above named reasons & painting on tracing paper is a great favourite with my class as the colours some out really luminous! Dianne
