MrsL Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Hi, does anyone know of anywhere I can get hold of something that really explains what the development matters statements mean? For 40-60 and the ElG's. I need some kind of reference for the staff in my unit, so they know what each statement really looks like. Especially in areas like 'language for thinking'? I'm not sure they entirely understand what some of the staements mean. Thanks for any ideas!
Guest Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Not sure if this is what you mean, but in the EYFS practice guidance booklet (the one with the development matters statements in for 6 areas of learning), the other columns alongside development matters are: - look, listen and note - effective practice - planning and resourcing Don't know if these are of any help though.
MrsL Posted October 7, 2009 Author Posted October 7, 2009 Thanks Purplemagic, I have looked there, but was hoping for something with more detail and explanation.
Susan Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 I think everyone's life would be a lot easier if we all knew that! But try the NAA, there were some exemplifacation materials publishe in 2007, I think. A search here might even bring up the link as I think Steve notified us all of that back then!
MrsL Posted October 7, 2009 Author Posted October 7, 2009 Don't know if I'm looking in the right place Susan but I can only find exemplification materials for the profile, not the development matters statements?
Susan Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Sorry was talking ELGs and Profile, on reflection.
Guest Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 If you go into the CDRom or check out the EYFS website here http://nationalstrategies.standards.dcsf.g...esc%2C_type+asc You will find it goes into greater detail. There are also some training modules on the EYFS website that may help your staff. good luick.
