mundia
H there Bev, I can see noone has replied yet to your question. This may be because in a school you don't need to have a policy as such for settling in. We used to have an induction statement which really covered our rationale for how we allocated places to start when (we had staggered intake) and how we built up the children's hours from visits with parents to full day. We found on the whole that we had no problems with this but occasionally we had a parent who asked why their child started a week after another child for example. We also included a bit about home visits and we reviewed it each year as changes were made. I would guess that these decisions have already been made for your new cohort? Im sure there are other members who have got their experiences to share with you.

Guest
Hi, Hope you have managed to source something to help you get a start on your settling in policy. I found this link and could be useful, then maybe just tailoring it to PMLD. Sorry it's a little late, only just joined, never seen this site as I have always been KS2 ASD, loving the change though and what a big change it is! http://www.peterpannurseryschool.com/documents/Settling%20In%20Policy.pdf x
