bgfrancis
Hi, I have been tearing my hair out trying to plan for my Year 1 children in a mainly Reception class (21 Reception/ 6 Year 1). I am planning on using the EYFS curriculum for the whole class throughout the first term as the Year 1 children still have several scale points to reach. However, i'm wondering whether I should link them to Year 1 objectives or wait till the 2nd term before even thinking about it. Please help! Guest
Hi, I have a few year 1s too and will be doing as you explained - using EYFS and extending as needed. I will not be including Y1 objectives to begin with, but I have the advantage that I know my Y1s-to-be very well as I taught them last year as YR. Therefore, I know what level they are at in each area of learning. It won't be too long (I hope!) until they are ready for Y1 objectives in some areas, but will be longer for others, if that makes sense. purple x
