Hi

Well been to my new pre-school this morning to check things out for Sept! They are thinking of getting an interctive whiteboard and have asked me (as IT expert :oxD ) to check a few things out. Never used one in my life so wondered what others use them for, which is best, software etc etc

Heeelllllpppppp!!!

im used to using a smart board, i enjoy using them for games from the internet, or sometimes i make my own using the notebook software. i think they are good for using with a small group or whole class, and the children i have workedwith previously like to play games individually and independently as well. x

Get Active Primary on a promethean whiteboard. Its fantastic. You can make flipcharts (dead easy) for whole class use, or leave the paint programme on for mark making etc or use other programmes on the internet. I would also recommend espresso. We have bought the pakage as a school, but it has 3 different key stages and the fs section is fab!!

Having been a Smart board user for many years, I recently had to learn to use Promethean boards! I am now a convert and would highly recommend a Promethean board over others. Check out promethean planet for resources and flipcharts ready made.

Espresso is brilliant to use - lots of fab resources and big books on line like Camille and the sunflowers. The children are very quick to pick up how to use it and did tell me how to do things when I was first using it!

If you need any help, please don't hesitate to shout!

Lxx
