Guest Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 Some of you have requested how to put in a link to another topic. I thought I would let you know how. Go to the topic you want to copy. Click on the web address at the top of the page-where it has http://www. etc. Copy this. Write your post and when you want to put in the link click on the grey box with http:// in it-it's just above this box near Normal Mode. Paste the address you have copied and click ok in the box that opens. Another box will open and you can put in whatever you want. So for example I have put a link into the topic where I found the requests and I put in the words "right here". So you can find this right here. You can also import addresses from elsewhere using the same method. So you can post a web site that you think is useful. Like this. Hope this helps! And good luck!!! Linda Quote

Susan Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 Well done Linda, I was going to do that too but hadnt quite got around to it, nor do I think it would have been so comprehensive. All I can say is, it gets easier with practise! Quote
catma Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 hurrah hurrah all I need is a link now...... Quote
Beau Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 Does this mean everyone is going to go link crazy now. Quote
Guest Posted October 16, 2004 Posted October 16, 2004 Something I forgot to say-in the post box when you add the link it comes up looking like gobbledegook! It's not until you actually add the post that it looks as it should. So don't worry if it looks weird you probably won't have got it wrong. Try previewing the post and it should be ok. Why not have a practice in this post rather than try it with something you really want others to know about. Then if you get it wrong it doesn't matter!! Linda Quote
catma Posted October 17, 2004 Posted October 17, 2004 I tried, I tried and it STILL WILL NOT WORK FOR ME. I get the window for the http:// etc etc but it will not let me paste the url into it. It just goes DONK and refuses. HELP. Cx Quote
