HappyMaz Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 I went on some training today and Rainbow Road Resources were mentioned as being good for children who have dyspraxia or who need support to develop good fine motor control. The concept was started in Australia by an Occupational Therapist, but apparently they have done a lot of work in this country, particularly in Bucks. The programme costs £145 which I thought included resources - but looking at the website it looks as if its just the manual and activity cards. Does anyone use the programme and if so can they tell me whether its worth investing in? Maz
Guest Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Hi Maz- dont know this programme , but can reccommend 'Smart MoveS' also divised by an OT -Sharon Drew . Her training is fantastic and her stuff can be easily use for younger children - hope this helps Diz
Marion Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 I think you get everything shown for £145 but can buy any of the items separately if you want but need to contact the company for a price so if your setting already had the original programme you would only need to buy the booster kit etc.
HappyMaz Posted January 31, 2009 Author Posted January 31, 2009 can reccommend 'Smart MoveS' also divised by an OT -Sharon Drew . Thanks for this, Diz Do you use this currently and if so would you mind telling me how it works? I've had a look around on the internet and can find the resource itself but not much about Sharon or the training. I'm really interested in introducing some sessions along these lines for all our children (we have a couple who would particularly benefit, I think) but don't want to go blundering in without knowing what I'm doing, if you know what I mean! Have also contacted Rainbow Road to see if they're coming to the UK this year... Thanks again Maz
