Guest Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 I have just received plans for Reception and Nursery for KUW with the Victorian classroom as an area for them to study. I am removing this because I don`t think this is what the ELG`s for history are about for 3-5year olds. What do other people cover in History and Geography to achieve the Stepping Stones?
hali Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 How old i feel at the end of a term..........(sorry bad day)
Guest Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Gwen, there was a short discussion about this last month ... I'd put a link in but I don't know how to But if you go to the 'Guests and visitors' section you should find it - I think it's called 'Geography and History in Foundation Stage'. Hope this helps, Harricroft.
Guest Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Thanks that info was really helpful I`m printing it off. This sight is wonderful it has been needed for a long time. Gwen
Susan Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 HI Gwen & welcome if I havent welcomed you before. I'm glad you think that cos several others of us are big fans too!! I agree with you that I do not think that is what is intended exactly although I suppose you could do some simple compare and contrast towards the end of the year. If the children can relate to it in some way then its definitely more relevant than something they cant! Obviously it depends on your children too. In my last school I had to be very careful not to tread on KS1 toes by doing anything that they would cover in yr1 which was actually quite difficult!!
