Jojom, I'm sure that I typed my current one out on another thread - have you done a search? If nothing comes up, let me know - I might have done it on another forum! :o

I'm going mad! I haven't got a job description for an EYP at all - for some reason my brain was saying Children's Centre Teacher, that's the one that I posted!

Sorry about that...but I might be able to find you something about EYP Job Descriptions...or Steve might...I'll ask him for you!

did a google search found

THIS

Found these adverts for staff, preferbly with EYPS, salary low :o (sorry off topic a bit but thought was interesting)

HERE

EXAMPLE JOB DESCRIPTION from Bright Horizons

I can only guess that the job description will of course be varied dependent on type of setting but the main consistent requirement would be related to 'leadership and implimentation of EYFS'.

On our sister site, The EYPS forum, we have some EYP roles and responsibilities, and person spec which were attachments to an article on building an EYP job description. We're going to be using these for discussion at our next EYP network meeting. Hope they help :o

These are really good Helen, the only thing I can't see (although only scan read) was any reference to knowledge of and working within statutory / legal requirements. Would these Job descriptions / person specs be an add on to a more generic job description for all staff, which includes working within statutory requirements, health & safety, equal opps etc? Or maybe these are covered by reference to policies within the documents. Just thinking out loud here :o:(xD:(

That's a very good point, Peggy. Ruth Bradley (who came up with these with her team) put these forward as a starting point, and hoped that other people would add to them.....just like you've done! I'll certainly bring your suggestions to my network meeting. :o
