Guest Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Hi Does anyone have any ideas for delivering inset to a group of teachers from Nursery to Year 7 around children's needs. I want them to feel what it is like to be a child with reading difficulties or asperger's. This will lead into discussions about strategies in class (maybe something on identifying children with dyslexia etc). We are a British school overseas and do not have much access to EPs, SALT etc. I am SENCO. We have four children with diagnoses of dyslexia (all diagnosed by independent EPs in England), one girl with cerebral palsy and one newly diagnosed with Autusm (from Centre for Autism, Holland) - as well as others at School Action. Would love to know about any sen inset you have been on or delivered that stuck out as being good (memorable). Thanks Louise.
jennyjenkinz Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 I remember when I was at college when researching dyslexia we uesd some visuals (OHP) that were examples of how people with dyslexia may see written words on paper. I'm sure you'd find something if you did an internet search
Guest Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Hi I delivered the INSET back in October - it went well. I have lots of practical activities, if anyone is ever doing something similar, I will share.
