Guest Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 Hi I have an interview for the position of family group worker has anyone any idea of the sort of questions I may be asked. Any help or advice would be great thank you
Guest Wolfie Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 What sort of setting is the job in? Have you been given a job description/person spec?
Guest Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 it is in a children's centre, yes have all the relevant job description etc just want to be prepared as I really want to get the job. I will study the above and try to work out what they may ask. I Hate the question about weaknesses and strengths as you don't want to come across as lacking in anything or been to boastful Thanks
Guest Wolfie Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 (edited) Ooops, sorry, I should have noticed where you'd posted and then I would have known it was a Children's Centre! Is a family group worker the same as a family support worker? I would expect there to be some questions about best practice in relation to engaging with parents and families, in particular the "most excluded"/hard to reach families - have you got a copy of the Surestart Children's Centre Guidance - you can download it here: http://www.surestart.gov.uk/publications/?Document=1854 There is some very useful reading there that might be good preparation!
