Guest Posted May 1, 2008 Share Posted May 1, 2008 Have you searched the forum for threads about this subject as I remember that a few months ago there was quite a good discussion about the subject. We used to have quite a few children who liked making guns out of sticklebricks last year and as long as they didn't annoy or upset anybody with them then that was fine. This year however I don't think the children have even mentioned guns!! Its funny isn't it how different they can all be. This year they like wearing builders hats and ballet/tap shoes!!! I did Superhero for my research and used 'we don't play with guns here' as a starting point. There's lots of links in the reference section but if you are stuck I'll dig out my references. I found Glen Cupit very practical (Socialising the superheroes). It's a really interesting topic and I kept finding new perspectives and yes we do allow gun play now and find it extends very quickly into all ssorts of creative pursuits with positive staff interaction.
