There are lots of the first experiences books like going to the doctor / hospital / dentist, not sure who wrote them though. Also how about the ladybird little workmates books? There's vicky the vet, queen clara, fireman fred etc. Like you said also Postman Pat, Bob Builder etc. Also I would strongly reccomend the CD from Out Of The Ark music. All about people and their jobs. My class love it and it was well worth the money! Link below.
