Hi there,

has anybody any experience of Children under 3 being in a nursery class and therefore on the School register as opposed to Pre Schools register. Is it possible? or is there a legal reason why not? Any help either way would be fantastic. We are a PFSU looking to create into FSU this is one of sticking points. thanks in advance

We had one intake when the head decided 'term of third birthday' instead of 'term after'.We had 6 children in out of 20 per session who were 2yrs 10 months. It was a nightmare! They just weren't mature enough for the more structured day and I didn't feel we could provide for their needs.I think thats when the grey hairs started. :o

Hi,

They would be in their own session, they wouldn't be mixing with the FSU children until they're 3, we just need to know if they can be on the school resister before they're 3. Sounds like this is possible just not advisable, is this the general feeling out there?

If they are in their own session then you will be able to plan for and meet their needs. Two year olds have very diferent requirements to a structured nursery class
