Guest Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Hi again just wondered if any of you had any ideas for baseline assessment for nursery and reception? The only method i have used which was ages ago was PIPs Help please! Thanks
Guest Wolfie Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 This is a much asked question on this forum, there've been a few threads about it before and some good suggestions if you do a search. I asked sometime ago because when Ofsted arrived it was something that they wanted to see as part of their precious "data"!!! Aaaggghhh! But I still haven't come up with anything I'm really happy with. Some local authorities have devised their own assessments - have you checked to see if that is the case where you are?
Guest Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Hello, We use the Bury Infant Check largely because of the need for quantifiable stats on entry....etc however it does give you a good idea of the childrens learning styles and gives you one on one time to build up rapport etc so does have some +ves!!
Guest Wolfie Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Any chance of having a look at it Lisa? Or can you tell us where we could get hold of a copy?
