sunflower
Our topic for the next two weeks is 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt'. I want to put up an interactive literacy display based on the book. Have though about making labels to match to each obstacle, but would appreciate some more ideas.
catma
How about letting the childrenmake a 3d model story board with scrap materials etc. That way they could play with it and reel the story using playmobil people or the like And engage in some creative goals as well. Magenta
Have you seen Carolyn C's small world activity on Bear Hunt in the Gallery?
Guest
The other thing we did with the story was to make large displays on paper of each of the places they go to in the story - the grass (large strips of green paper), the river (blue cellophane and tissue), the mud (thick brown paint and welly printing) the forest (bark and leaf collage) etc. Then we told the story by going round the room to each "Place" in the story (i.e. each display) and acting out with our children what the children in the story did (e.g. stumble trip, swishy swashy etc). Maybe that's more the kind of thing you had in mind? It worked well. Carolyn
Guest Sycamore
hi i have just bought cards to use with romer with the scenes of Going on A Bear hunt on. Idea is the romer is directed to the next scene. You could use photocopies of the book and remote control toys? TTS is where I bought the romer accessories in case you want them for the future. HAve fun.
