we had a thought at preschool today :lol:
as we are trying to use our outdoor area more for different activities, rather than just exercise!
could we get away with using PVA glue to make a leaf and bits collage on the fence?
do you think it will just wash away?? (dont want to ruin the fence or spend hours trying to scrub it off!)
we are in a village hall dont want to upset the commitee but thought it we be a different thing to do.
maybe someone could suggest a different adhesive :o
summer hols here we come!!!!!

How about a different slant? A spontaneous activity from our outside play last week was a leafe kebab! The children found sticks (lots after the wind) and threaded the leaves on the stick like a kebab.... their idea entirely. From Teachers TV I saw a teacher had hung different coloured laces from the tree, red, green, brown.... the children had to thread the leaves on to the correct lace according to the leaf colour (sorting activity). You could sequence too, by colour, by shape.......
Thought is the blossom;
language the bud;
action the fruit behind it.

I've seen some lovely weaving activities outside using that orange plastic mesh that you get round roadworks as the base - children just threaded through whatever they could find - grasses, twigs, etc. as well as some bit s of ribbon and materials provided from inside. The children loved the activity.

we attached some garden mesh on the fence for children to put things through, easy to remove and we moved it inside as well with items children brought in from home

PVA would definately wash away eventually, i'm afraid.................but there are some super alternative ideas above!!
so take my hand, squeeze it tight, make some light out of the darkness............

We are in a church hall ourselves and the children at our setting love to paint (with water of course) the fences walls concrete floor etc with paint brushes big and small and rollers.

You could use plastic coated wire and get the children to weave leaves, grass, etc through it. You would not then need to use glue as PVA would be bound to wash off as it is water based.
