News in brief

  • New Features
  • What to do at the end of term
  • Price changes for 2020

Hi Weavers,

Welcome to the November Tapestry newsletter. For your information, we are now sending out our newsletters via email again, so if you would like our newsletters to be delivered straight to your inbox, as a staff member or manager on Tapestry, you can sign up through your account by following this tutorial. Alternatively, you can sign up through the ‘keep in the loop’ section near the bottom of the home page.

Meanwhile here at Tapestry HQ, we’ve been very busy with the launch of not one, but two new features! So, without further ado, let’s have a look at them.

Documents

The new Documents feature on Tapestry allows you to upload Word, Excel, PDF and txt files to a dedicated and easy-to-find area within your account. These files can then be shared with other members of your staff and if you choose, with relatives as well.

All files that are uploaded are scanned for viruses and once they have been, they can be sorted into folders of your creation. You could use this section to add files like consent forms, your privacy policies and health and safety documents but the types of file you upload is completely up to you, so it can be used very flexibly to suit the needs of your setting.

To learn how to use Documents on your account, you can watch the videos in this playlist, or you can read the tutorials in the ‘Documents’ section of our Main Tutorials page.

We hope you enjoy this new addition to Tapestry!

Cherry Garden Framework

We’ve been working with Cherry Garden school, an outstanding special school in London, to bring their namesake SEND assessment framework to life on Tapestry and now it’s available on all Tapestry accounts!
This new framework combines Chery Garden’s years of SEND expertise with parts of the popular Routes for Learning framework to create a child-centred assessment system which allows progress to be demonstrated in a linear and lateral fashion, therefore creating a unique path for each child.

It provides practitioners with key milestones you might see in a typically developing child aged 0-5 years and on Tapestry, there is a unique Cherry Garden Orchard interactive graphic which shows multimedia evidence of a child’s learning. This can also be shared with parents and relatives.

If you would like to use the Cherry Garden framework within your setting, you just need to enable it on your account. This series of videos will talk you through how to do this and how you can then assess and track children’s development with it.

What to do at the end of a term

As we approach the end of the Autumn Term in the UK, we’ve got lots of useful resources, such as tutorials, articles and videos, which you can use to help you with the end of term process on your Tapestry account. Things you might want to cover could include writing reports and tracking children’s progress through the year so far. You can find these in our ‘What to do at the end of the term of year’ section on our Tapestry Encyclopedia.

We hope that you find these helpful, if you have any additional questions, you can get in touch with us by emailing customer.service@eyfs.info.

Price Increase 2020

From the 1st February 2020 we will be making a minor increase to the price of Tapestry based on inflation. This will allow us to continue working on improving Tapestry and the overall service we provide.

Any invoices created before the 1st February will have the old price honoured within our normal terms of 30 days of the invoice being generated.

To view our new prices, you just need to read this forum post.
