Guest Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Hi all, Does anyone know what the role of a foundation stage lead teacher is or is anyone in this post, please advice. Thanks Flower
Guest Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Is it not just another term for Foundation Stage Co-ordinator?
Guest Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Dont know if this is the same thing but in my LEA there are Foundation Stage Lead Practitioners. Not sure of their exact role but they are available for other FS teachers to go and observe. As I was new to the FS I was given this opportunity. It was really worthwhile, especially as I work in a 1 form entry school where no one has any idea about the FS!
Susan Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 No and yes! Lead teachers are often Foundation stage coordinators within their school but are also required to outreach to other settings to support others. AST is another term used. I think Apple may have this role, not sure about others.
Guest Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Am a foundation stage lead teacher - as an extension of role as english lead teacher. It has been a really fulfilling role. You get to work with lots of teachers from other settings and get a chance to assist with training within your LEA. It is a great professional development opportunity and would rfeally recommmend it to anyione thinking of applying.
