Guest tinkerbell
Hi all We are having an 'arts'week next week and as art/dt co-ordinator I have organised the making of a whole school wall hanging. We made one 6 years ago where each child in the school sewed a fabric square with their hand on it ,made out of felt., they then added stitche ,beads etc to make the square uniqe. It always gets comment but the children have all but gone so..... The theme is re-cycled colour (I emptied out my airing cupboard in the half term and was getting rid of the childrens old quilt covers,red,blue,yellow...)Each class has a colour and can go down the shades etc The book by Belair re-cycling art has the example I showed staff to get them fired up.Letters were sent home and a few parents sent in buttons and wool My class is doing green so we cut our squares and dyed the fabric on friday pegging it out to dry.the children and staff are really excited. Marion
Sounds lovely we made a school hanging using felting techniques with some artists a few years ago and as you say visitors always admire it. hope you will share some pictures when it is finished.
