Guest Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 I've been involved in a discussion with colleagues about what book band level you would expect most children to have reached by the time they are at the end of their Reception Year. I'm not really sure, having not worked in Reception all that recently, and was wondering what anyone else thought? Thanks Mabel
Susan Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 some will be on pink, most will be on red, a few might be on the next colour which I cant remember as I never got mine there!! If you look on the Lancs ed literacy site you will find some very interesting and useful documents.
Marion Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Lilac Pink Red Yellow Most of my class will be working in red level with some still in pink and possibly the odd one in yellow. bookband_objectives.doc
apple Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 hi Marion thanks for those objectives... it would be useful to know the source, where are they from?
Marion Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 I adapted them from a few sources ........we use Rigby reading books and it is in part from their teachers notes.
Susan Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Lilac is a Rigby bookband not a Bookband band!!
Guest Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Thanks for your help, Susan and Marion, I'm feeling a bit clearer now.
Marion Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Rigby, Collins and I think Heinemann have introduced the lilac level.
