Red Nose Day

We plan to do some fund raising for Red Nose day in March. Does anyone have any activities or ideas they could share? Last time we made red jelly, stuck red vivelle noses on a lolly stick and decorated a biscuit with red icing. The parents made a small donation which we gave to this excellent cause. Any 'new' ideas would be very welcome!!

I co-ordinated a red nose day a few years ago at nursery (the 'say pants to poverty' one), so it was a while ago!

We had a dress in red day, with staff being sponsored to wear pants on their heads and a sponsored 'collect red items' for the children.

On the day itself, we had different activities in the rooms - red painting, sticking, glueing and general art and craft; red messy play - red gloop, jelly, playdough, shaving foam etc; red nose activities - clowns, animals, faces etc and then outside we did an assault course/trail/teasure hunt where the children followed red ribbon around the garden, stamped their card at various points with different red stamps (like on orienteering) and then collected a red bag with red treats at the end (a jelly baby, smartie, slice of apple etc)

We raised over £1000 which we thought was pretty good for a 60-place nursery.

If you get the school pack usually they have a theme. last year it was buy a cow. it came with all the posters and we based our theme around that other years they have had where chocolate comes from with posters. It is really good info and they base each pack depending on age.

Haven't had our pack yet are waiting for it to come.
