Job Interview Help Please

Hello, I have a job interview coming up for a position of Senior Nursery worker (Foundation Stage) and I have been asked to: 'Prepare a 10 minute presentation on 'How to deliver the Foundation Stage to parents'.'

Well, I am a bit stumped. Basically, how do I prepare a presentation on giving a presentation? In the past I have actually given a short presentation to parents on the Foundation Stage. I'm not sure how much detail to go into this time. Please can some kind person give me some ideas?

Not sure I'm any help but have you got the surestart video on informing parents on the foundation stage it may give you some ideas on how to set out your presentation. Best of luck anyway:)

Thanks mj-led, I have dug out that DVD and watched it a couple of times. Thanks Susan for your ideas on the presentation - I shall do it in that format. Thanks Shirel for your best wishes.

Belated thanks Marion, I did have that leaflet and used it and the Sure Start Parents' Foundation Stage video to prepare my spiel. Anyway, I have been called for a second interview and this time I have to do a 30 minute activity with the children. I don't know how many children - I am presuming it may be the whole group (about 18) with help. I have to take in weekly plans which include my activity plan. The theme for this activity has to be 'Festivals'. Does anyone have any helpful ideas on what I could do please? The nursery is run by the PLA / Sure Start but most of the children would be of white British origin. They are aged 3/4.

Well done Suzanne and Good luck!

I'd suggest cooking but you may not want to do that with 18 children?

If this is before the end of term something relating to Christmas that they could make and take home seems appropriate but again difficult with a large group?

Make some Christmas dough with the children, smelly or different colours?

Perhaps you need to clarify the numbers?

Thanks Susan, I was thinking along the salt dough route using Christmas cutters but your idea of 'festive' dough is better.
